PI-TV: Montese Overton is Ready To Go

GREENVILLE, N.C. - This week's game at North Carolina is big because it's the next game on the schedule. It is also big because of it being a big in-state challenge for the Pirates.

For Montese Overton, this week's Conference USA defensive player of the week, he has plenty to prove still. Overton isn't resting on his laurals after last week's 24-14 victory over Southern Miss.

Afterall, it was his first start. But putting together ten tackles including four solo tackles and two and a half credits for tackles for losses isn't exactly chopped liver.

Overton also ran back a 16-yard fumble recovery of a Kyle Tudor strip for an ECU touchdown that helped put the Golden Eagles away at the Rock. All a part of 21 third quarter points for a Pirate team that has started slow in every game this season. The Greenville freshman redshirt talked about it for PI-TV.

"It felt good, I've never done it before and never experienced it in high school, so actually when I got the the ball picked it up and ran it was an exciting thing. I guess I thought I was in there a little bit before(reaching the endzone) and I let it go a little early, so I was lucky the referee didn't call it.

Gametime is 3:30 on ESPN U and the Pirate IMG Radio Network.
