August 8, 2012GREENVILLE, N.C. - Fall camp is flying by and for East Carolina, time is precious and so is every snap of the football.
First Wednesday activities were hallmarked by a two-a-day practice with one workout in the morning and a second in the afternoon.
Mild but muggy conditions greeted the Pirates on Wednesday morning. An early morning rain had moved by, leaving the surface a little wet. After the rain stopped, ECU got down to business with a two hour workout in full pads. The second practice of the day was a scheduled workout in shells.
Matt Milner tweaked a foot in practice but seemed to be under control and took some time to update PirateIllustrated.com defensively and more on today's camp workout.
"We've got a lot of experience under our belt. I'll be back out here in no time, said Milner who outlined the big focus defensively, "Making sure you make your reps count and that you execute so that when you get in the fourth quarter you'll be sure to execute then too. It's really great to get back out here in the pads."
UNC transfer Hunter Furr talked to PirateIllustrated.com for PI-TV and is one of the strongest players on the team in the weight room, according to Jeff Connors.
"Trying to keep our mentalities right. Taking care of our bodies on and off the field will be big for us, said Furr, "I might bring the power where T-Hunt might bring the speed and Michael might bring something else. Saturday's scrimmage will be big for us but right now the big thing is keeping my mentality right for this afternoon."
