Alston Pledges to East Carolina

Cameron (NC) Union Pines strong side defensive end Taijh Alston has made a verbal commitment to play his college football at East Carolina.

The 6-5, 220 pounder made an unofficial visit to Greenville on Saturday for the annual purple gold spring game and came away impressed.

He announced on twitter, "Blessed to say I've committed to East Carolina University."

He accounted for 77 tackles, including 13 for loss and eight sacks last season for Union Pines.

Alston holds offers from Miami(Ohio), Charlotte, Coastal Carolina, Appalachian State and North Carolina State while receiving additional attention from both North Carolina and South Carolina.

He also plays tight end for Union Pines.

Alston is ECU's second verbal commitment for Scottie Montgomery's Pirate class of 2017.
