ECU Pounds N.C. Wesleyan 91-60

GREENVILLE, N.C. - Maurice Kemp scored 19 points and hauled down 10 boards to go along with six assists for his sixth double-double of the year in a 91-60 pounding of North Carolina Wesleyan(7-5) Ssturday evening in Minges Coliseum.
ECU(9-4) jumped out to an early 9-3 lead on a Ty Armstrong dunk before Brandon Givens began to heat up for Wesleyan hitting a jumper and then canning a midrange floater to close the lead to 9-7 in the first half. A Cornelius Snow bomb cut the lead to one before two Kemp buckets put ECU back on top.

Eric Dorch-Jones' three point play put the Battling Bishops up by three with under 12 minutes to play in the first half.
A Kemp dunk and Shamarr Bowden's three point jumper gave ECU a 15 point lead that was trimmed to eleven at intermission at 44-33.
Kemp, Armstrong, Bowden and Robert Sampson scored early in the second half as ECU began to pull away by 19 in the first three
minutes of the half.
Miguel Paul hit a layup to push ECU out by 20 and a Paris Roberts-Campbell trey found the Pirates leading by 32 in the last three minutes of the game.
ECU dished out 22 assists and shot right at 49 percent for the game, including 10 for 29 from the arc. Wesleyan was limited to 30 percent shooting but did hit 8 of 25 from three-point range.
Armstrong ended up with 14 points in one of his best games thus far. He also pulled down 8 rebounds while Miguel Paul scored 13 points and dished out five assists. Akeem Richmond chipped in with 10 points in 16 minutes of play for ECU.
Brandon Givens led all scorers with 23 points for N.C. Wesleyan.
The Pirates scored 42 points in the paint, 33 off of 19 Wesleyan turnovers and 10 points off the fast break in their ninth win of the season.
