PI-TV: Father Time

GREENVILLE, N.C. - As East Carolina boards a plane to New Orleans on Friday, several seniors will be making their last regular season road trip against 2-8 Tulane.
The Pirates have won 9 of 11 meetings between the two Conference USA schools. The Wave is coming off a 37-23 loss at Memphis while ECU just enjoyed a bye week after a convincing win over Houston two weeks ago, 48-28 in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
One prominent senior is defensive end Michael Brooks who sees the big picture and has been with the program through some good times and during the entire rebuild of the program after the departure of Skip Holtz three years ago.
With Ruffin McNeill now close to turning the corner at ECU, this is a time for the Pirates to get the most out of the remainder of what has been a pretty good season overall.
For the 280 pound Brooks, he has put together 130 tackles in his career, including 14 tackles for a loss and three sacks in between a multitude of injuries. Brooks endured knee surgury after game one but has returned in full form to take his place in Pirate football lore.
Time is fleeting and Brooks knows that if the Pirates are to make some noise this year, now is the time to do it.
"Coach Ruff came to me the other week and said hey, you're reps are running out. Now I look up and there's three weeks left to go, yeah it's starting to hit me now." asked the Roxboro senior how he is doing physically after a long season and what East Carolina will need to do defensively against Tulane.
"We have to play technique and do what we do, that's what we did against Houston and it worked out pretty good, so that's what we'll do this week." Brooks said, "I'm feeling good, no injuries despite my past couple of years but I'm feeling pretty good right now."
