UCF Week Begins

GREENVILLE, N.C. - East Carolina returns home this week to face Central Florida in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium.
The big news of the day was the suspension of running back Alex Owah for the remainder of the season for violation of team rules. He will be reevaluated after the season.

With Michael Dobson already likely out this week with a concussion and Reggie Bullock still hampered by a thigh injury, that will put more pressure on the ECU running game.
Ruffin McNeill says that injuries have disrupted continuity on offense and we could see more of Zico Pasut at running back this week along with the possibility of putting Danny Webster back there if necessary.
Adhern Elsawi, Lance Lewis, Doug Polochak and Dobson are all listed as questionable while Bullock and offensive lineman Grant Harner are listed as doubtful. Detric Allen and Brandon Williams are both out for Saturday's game against UCF.
"They'll show you a lot of four man front on defense and the blitz a little more than they did last year," said McNeill, "They rotate Godfrey with Bortles at quarterback. George has been pretty conservative but I'm sure he'll have a wrinkle or two on Saturday."
McNeill stressed the importance of the week of practice to come.
"We need another good job of preparing this week. It's a chance to get closer to bowl eligible and I talked to the seniors about how important Senior Day is but it's also an important game for the program," McNeill reiterated, "We've got a lot to play for this week."
"We flew around pretty good last night(Sunday), Justin Jones got some work," McNeill said, "This week we need to do a good job of understanding situations and being a good situational football team."
