ECU Falls to Ole Miss in Game Two

Colby Bortles sixth inning homer and Will Golsan’s long double to left field that scored Ryan Olnek led Ole Miss to their second win in as many days over ECU in a 3-2 victory at Swayze Stadium. Andy Pagnozzi picked up the win for Ole Miss while Sam Lanier takes the loss and Will Stokes got the save for the Rebels.

Luke Bolka slammed a solo homer to left center with two outs in the second inning to give the Pirates a 1-0 lead.

With Bolka and Charlie Yorgan on second and third, James McArther plunked Turner Brown to load the bases. Then a McArther's pitch hit T.J. Riles and Bolka scored to make it 2-0 ECU before Eric Tyler grounded into a double play to end the Pirate threat in the top half of the fifth.

Colby Bortles’ booming sixth inning home run to left field got Ole Miss on the scoreboard to make it 2-1 ECU after six innings.

Ryan Olenek singled to open the bottom of the seventh inning for the Rebels. Will Golsan’s double to left got past the diving Dwayna Williams-Sutton scoring Olenek to tie the game at two apiece, retiring Sam Lanier.

Tate Blackman advanced Golsan on a ground out to first base. Then Colby Bortles sacrifice fly to center scored Golsan to give the Rebels at 3-2 lead after seven innings.

ECU’s Luke Bolka singled to center off of Will Stokes with two outs in the top of the ninth frame. Kirk Morgan’s pinch hit pop fly to right field ended the Pirate threat as Ole Miss picked the win.
