GREENVILLE, N.C. – After capturing the Charlottesville Regional title, the East Carolina baseball team will face No. 5 National Seed Texas Tech in the Lubbock Super Regional this weekend at Dan Law Field at Rip Griffin Park.
ECU (37-21-1) advanced to its fourth super regional in program history following an 8-6 win over William & Mary Sunday afternoon in the regional final. The Pirates, who went 3-0 in the regional, notched wins over nationally ranked Bryant (9-1) and host Virginia (8-6) before winning the regional championship.
Texas Tech (44-17) advanced to its second super regional following a 5-3 win over Dallas Baptist in the Lubbock Regional Monday evening. The Red Raiders went 3-1 in their regional picking up wins over Fairfield (12-1) and New Mexico (4-3) to go along with the regional championship victory, while dropping the first regional championship game to Dallas Baptist (10-6) on Sunday night.
ECU will have a limited number of tickets to sell to Pirate Fans wishing to attend the Lubbock Super Regional. Tickets officially go on sale Tuesday, June 7 at 9 a.m. (ET) and can be purchased by calling the East Carolina Athletic Ticket Office. All orders must be received by 5 p.m. (ET) on Tuesday, June 7. Tickets are priced at $17 per game.
The two teams will play in a best-of-three series with a spot to the College World Series on the line. The NCAA will announce game dates, times and television designations at 10 a.m. (ET) Tuesday morning.
