Jones Tosses Out First Pitch and Addresses The Upcoming NFL Draft

After throwing out the first pitch before game two between (8)East Carolina and Mercer Friday night, Jones said, "I think Coach Godwin should immediately put me on his team and make me the starting pitcher."

Jones, the all-time receptions leader in college football reflected on throwing out the first pitch. When asked what kind of pitch he threw, he wasn't quite sure.

"I don't know what that was. I was just having fun with it. It was fun to just get out there and do that. It was a fun experience. It was the first time I've ever done that."

ECU head coach Scottie Montgomery was on hand to watch his pupil deliver the ceremonial first pitch.

"Coach Mo said please don't embarrass us and just get it to the glove. I just tried to do my best and have fun with it.

"It's just great to come back to my home town and do great things here and do something this exciting."

Afterward, Jones talked to a group of press and answered some questions about the upcoming NFL Draft and much more.

"I have my signing tomorrow (Saturday) at SupDogs from Noon to 3 p.m. that I'm doing for Aces for Autism and then next after that will be my Pro Day which is on March 23rd where I will be competing for the coaches," Jones told PirateIllustrated.com Friday night.
