Scottie Montgomery and East Carolina picked up their second big defensive commitment in a week from Jones County Junior College in Brandon, Mississippi.

Rivals.com three-star ranked weak side defensive end Marques Ford committed to the Pirates over offers from California, Mississippi State, Louisville, Ole Miss, Syracuse, West Virginia, Texas A&M and others.

Very happy to say I'm committing to the ECU Pirates ☠🏈‼️ Thank you to all the other schools for the opportunity.

Ford joins Jones County Juco inside linebacker Cannon Gibbs who pledged to the Pirates just last week.

ECU defensive line coach Deke Adams is credited for their recruitment.

Ford, a Rivals 4-star while in high school where he had no less than 27 offers, is originally out of East Bay High in Gibsonton, Florida. Ford first committed to Tennessee before landing at Rutgers, but when things didn't work out there he eventually landed at Jones County Junior College.

The 6-4, 235 pounder has 17 tackles, 9.5 sacks and 3.5 tackles for a loss this season at Jones County.

He visited ECU in late October and adds to a growing crop of Pirates for 2017 that currently stands at twenty players and is currently ranked 56th overall by Rivals.com.
