Chris Holba pitched six scoreless innings and ECU picked up a 10-0 midweek win over Campbell at Jim Perry Stadium Wednesday evening. It was the Pirates' first victory of the young baseball season.

T.J. Riles got things started early with a two-run homer in the top of the first inning to give East Carolina a 2-0 lead.

Charlie Yorgan’s sacrifice fly to centerfield in the top of the sixth inning allowed Travis Watkins to score from third base to increase the Pirates’ lead to 3-0.

ECU(1-3) kept the sixth inning rally going when Campbell pitcher Ryan Kirk plunked Nick Barber, advancing Kirk Morgan to second base. Kirk then walked Bryant Packard to load the bases before Riles singled to score both Barber and Morgan and give the Pirates a 5-0 lead.

The Pirates loaded the base again in the seventh on Wyatt Tyson before he was lifted for Wes Noble. Then Charlie Yorgan’s double to center scoring Luke Bolka and Spencer Brickhouse. Nick Barber’s ground out scored Travis Watkins and then Bryant Packard tripled to center, scoring Charlie Yorgan and the ECU lead ballooned to 9-0.

Chris Holba pitched six scoreless innings for East Carolina before he was lifted for Tyler Smith.

ECU’s Brady Lloyd reached on a throwing error in the eighth. Lloyd advanced to second on an Andrew Henrickson ground out before moving to third base on a passed ball. Then he scored on a Brickhouse ground out to second as the Pirates opened up a 10-0 lead.

With the midweek loss, Campbell drops to 2-2.
