Stevon Brown and Jadakis Bonds Are Onboard for East Carolina

6-foot-4 wide receiver Jadakis Bonds from Williamston (N.C.) Riverside along with Baltimore lineman Steven Brown are onboard as new Pirate commits for the class of 2018.

Bonds plays for Coach Asim McGill and their team went 8-4 last year falling in the first round of the state playoffs at home to Princeton 70-64 in fours overtimes.

Bonds had 51 catches for 963 yards and 16 touchdowns last season.

The 6-4, 170 pounder has received interest from all of the in-state schools from Charlotte to N.C. State, Duke, North Carolina, Wake Forest, Appalachian State. Maryland had also gotten into the act along with his other offer from West Virginia. Marshall and a few others had shown interest as well.

Keith Gaither is the new wide receivers coach at East Carolina and he is handling Bonds’ recruitment.

Offensive lineman Stevon Brown, offensive guard out of Archbishop Curley High in Baltimore is a 6-4, 295 pounder with a solid upside.

He also holds offers from Air Force, Army, Navy, Howard, Old Dominion and Marshall.

ECU defensive line coach Robert Prunty is credited with being Brown’s head recruiter for the Pirates.

With the two additions, business has picked up of late for East Carolina. The Pirates stand at nine overall pledges for this recruiting cycle.
