Alex Turner out of Houston's Jersey Village High is a 6-3 280 defensive lineman with 4.9 forty speed, a 4.4 shuttle, a 400 bench and a 600 squat lift who made way to Greenville for an official visit to ECU this weekend.
Turner came away impressed with what he saw.
Sunday morning he made his decision to play his college football at East Carolina.
"Awesome visit. I have decided to commit to East Carolina University", the Houston product declared.
Turner who has flown under the radar is a First Team All-District 6A and a NUC 5 Star Camp MVP and recruited by new ECU defensive coordinator Kenwick Thompson held offers to Lamar, Eastern Kentucky and Tennessee State.
It's Thompson's first commitment in his new role at ECU after making an in home visit in Houston earlier this week.
With the pledge, ECU moves to 13 newcomers for the class of 2016 including OG Cortez Herrin who has already enrolled.
