Wiggins Set for Pirate Debut

Korrin Wiggins hopes to make a big splash when he makes his Pirate debut this Saturday night in the season opener against James Madison.

"I'm excited and ready to compete and go to work with my brothers and hope to come home with a victory," Wiggins told PirateIllustrated.com.

Wiggins signed with the Pirates in June. He is t he brother of former ECU receiver Reese Wiggins.

At Clemson, he made 68 tackles including four tackles for a loss and four quarterback hurries to go along with seven pass breakups in his three seasons with the Tigers and has earned a starting job at free safety in ECU's 4-2-5 setup.

So far Wiggins is settling in nicely and his acclimation to ECU couldn't be smoother.

"The coaches have been great. I've been going hard and competing. I'm getting better every day and it's been going well."

The 6-2, 200 pounder has been battling a sore foot but he will be ready to go when the Pirates tee it up for the season opener.
